HE Counsellor Talk at International Conference
Higher Education Counsellor, Rebecca Lucas-Timpany, was part of a panel presenting to delegates at this year’s Council of International Schools conference on college admissions and guidance.
In the session, the panel covered different ways in which schools engage with parents. They explained how to support parents throughout the process so that they can help students at home.
Rebecca highlighted some of the practices at Island School including the integration of HE work with the PTA’s own careers committee. She also talked about support for parents and students in terms of well-being issues, which can often occur at the same time as university applications.
Rebecca, who was the inaugural winner of the CIS Future Leader Award, commented that she was honoured to have been selected to be one of the presenters for this year’s conference as CIS receive many excellent proposals from counsellors around the globe.
