Walking past Block 2, one’s sense of smell is enticed by the wonderful aromas of piquant curries, chocolatey desserts and fresh baked pastries. Our students are busy learning to prepare 5-star variety meals, while also learning nutrition, critique and food safety and hygiene. Watch out Gordon Ramsey Islanders are coming!! To continue to exceed our current standard the Food Technology department is seeking support for industrialised kitchen components to increase current capacity for this year’s students. These components include: 25 induction hobs, 1 deep freezer, 2 mixers/food processors; 1 refrigeration units/freezer; 2 ice cream makers; 1 meat/cheese slicers; and different ovens grills and steamers of various sizes.
