Access to education is essential for young people to fulfil their potential. We are asking you to join us in supporting disadvantaged young people in our community as they work hard to fulfil their dreams.
“I come from a poor family and my parents can just earn enough to keep the wolf from the door. I did not have a chance to join any extra-curricular activities. After receiving the grant, I can join different activities to widen my horizons. I can also buy more learning materials. It helps me to prepare for exams effectively.”
The Island School Trust runs an annual bursary scheme in the memory of Nicola Myers and Kenneth McBride. It recognises that there are those here in Hong Kong who struggle to access their education because of financial hardship and, the scheme seeks to combat this through direct intervention.
It supports academic, but financially disadvantaged, students through the award of HK$3,000 bursaries.
Please join us in helping these students make the most of the educational opportunities available to them.
