ISPTA Lunar New Year Celebrations

The ISPTA community came together again to usher in the Year of the Snake and share good fortune with our school and community. The celebrations included parent-donated snack sales on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22, featuring a scrumptious array of Chinese, Indonesian and Korean treats.

To set the mood for Lunar Year celebrations, parents decorated the campus in traditional gold and red colors and the peach blossom trees quickly became full of wishes from students for the Year of the Snake. The celebrations were multifold on Wednesday as the Island School staff delighted everyone with lively dances set to Lunar New Year tunes, followed by enthusiastic performances from our parents. Parent volunteers also showcase Lunar New Year-themed plushies , including food items like buns and noodles, all available at bargain prices. Students and adults alike were thrilled to find soft, colorful plushies that serve as cherished good luck keepsakes to kick off the Year of the Snake. It was heartwarming to see everyone dressed in vibrant red, embodying the spirit of the celebrations and spreading joy across the campus.

A big thank you to parents Kandy, Gloria C, Teresa, Tania, Florence W, Frank, Lamey, Karen, Jennifer, Cindy, Catherine, Jihong, Alexander, Angel, Catherine, Cathy, Ceci, Christina, Christine, Florence T, Fong, Gloria H, Jiang Hui, Joanne, Joyce, June, Juyoung, KK, Lee, Lily, Linda, Liz, Lyndy, Michelle L, Michelle W, Monica, Oi Ping, Preeti, Qianqian, Queenie, Sandy, Sohlim, Sonia, Vicky, Yanping, Yuchen and Zoe who supported the snack sales, volunteered to dance and decorated the campus!
