ISPTA Walkathon & Staff Appreciation Lunch

On Friday, January 17th, was the first time our parent volunteers joined Y7 & Y8 teachers on their walk to Bowen Road. This event is part of Island School’s initiative where all students and teachers walk at various locations to raise funds for local Hong Kong students pursuing secondary education. Each year, the Island School Trust allocates 60-80 bursaries to partner schools, with principals selecting students who show academic dedication despite facing personal hardships. This year, ISPTA collaborated with parent volunteers to help manage the walk and support this important cause. Thank you to all the parent volunteers for their contributions!

On the same day as the walkathon, ISPTA organized a staff appreciation lunch for all teachers, support staff, site staff and canteen staff. Parent volunteers prepared a delightful array of traditional dishes—appetizers, mains, and desserts—spanning various Asian and Western cuisines. This relaxed afternoon allowed staff members to be pampered by our generous parents. Many teachers expressed their feelings of gratitude for the food prepared by our lovely IS families. The inner courtyard buzzed with Island School spirit as staff mingled with parent volunteers, enjoying the excellent spread.

ISPTA extends a heartfelt thank you Sohlim, Ekta, Gloria C, Angela, Fiona, Vindya, Akanksha, Teresa, Rachna, Sandy, Lily, Jacqui, Jiang Hui, Florence W, Tony Tang, Priya, Kandy, Tania, Zarrah, Gloria H, Priscilla, Cindy, Lamey, Licia Yee, Sonal, Giorgia, Ildi, Fumika, Joanne, Florence T, Natacha and everyone else behind the scenes who contributed to making this lunch a wonderful experience for both staff and parents!
