The Sound of Waves Launch Day

On September 4th all Year 10 students were off timetabled lessons 1-4 for The Sound Of Waves Launch day in the Performance space. For their English World Literature coursework, students will be studying the novel The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima. They do this alongside their First Language English studies, using some lessons in Year 10 to read the novel and to explore key themes and characters. To introduce the novel, the English department prepared an immersive experience for the students to stimulate interest and get the ball rolling! This was an informative, interactive and fun packed day that involved collaborative research, Treasure hunts, movie screenings and a chance to battle it out in an inter house quiz on the novel.
