ISPTA Initiative – Food Composter

At the end of the last academic year, ISPTA supported the sponsorship of a ‘food composter’. It is a sustainability initiative in conjunction with the community garden space that will enable students to turn food waste into compost which in turn will help facilitate gardening. It will be a significant improvement not only in the school’s commitment to sustainability but also in the student’s learning experiences at Island School. The purchase of the composter is underway so ‘watch this space’ for more details and photos of the composter and student’s learning experiences in the coming months.
