B2B Community Engagement Week updates
Students assembled thank you packages for the local community from Monday 6 June to Thursday 9 June during Community Engagement Week.
Since Island School’s move to Sha Tin in 2018, students have had the opportunity to engage with community members in activities such as the Community Senior Citizen Afternoon Tea, Community Gardening and Community English. To express the school’s gratitude for the support of our local community, the Student Council, Student Ambassadors and Back to Borrett Leadership Team jointly created thank-you packages.
With the support of the Island School PTA, Senior Leadership Team, various teachers and support staff members, the students put together the packages, consisting of personalised postcards, masks, hand sanitisers, hand cream, anti-bacterial wet wipes, essential oil, kitchenware, pot plants, and more.
The personalised postcards were written by all students, who were invited to write messages expressing their gratitude as part of Community Engagement Week. Over the week, over 700 postcards have been written on both sites.
The thank-you packages will be distributed to the Sha Tin neighbourhood on the afternoon of Friday 10 June.
B2B Community Engagement leaders, Sam Hui (12W) and Joseph Lau (12D) expressed their excitement for this initiative and their gratitude for the consistent support they have received from many staff and students to make this project possible.
