Teacher of Humanities specialising in Philosophy (One Year Contract)
A full time teacher of Humanities specialising in Philosophy is required to teach principally in the Philosophy and Religious Studies (PRS) department of the Individuals and Societies faculty. The successful candidate will primarily teach IBDP Philosophy with the possibility of IBDP Global Politics, IBDP TOK, and lower school MYP Integrated Humanities. The position will be a full-time one year contract.
The Individual and Societies faculty comprises the History, Global Politics, Geography, PRS, Psychology, Economics and Business departments. There are currently 18 full time and 1 part time members of staff. The faculty enjoys a positive working environment with excellent examination results.

We operate a 1 to 1 laptop program throughout the school and all teachers should be committed to making the most of these resources in the teaching of their subjects. Online learning, blended learning, and flipped learning styles are also promoted throughout the school and teachers are expected to promote these practices.
The co-curricular program is an important part of Island school life and all teachers are involved in some activities that are offered to students outside lesson time. All full time teachers are form tutors to a group of students who they see daily within the house structure.
Requirements
A relevant degree and postgraduate teaching qualification
At least two years experience in teaching Philosophy and/or Global Politics at IBDP level
A familiarity with IB MYP curriculum design processes and teaching methodologies
An ability to teach other humanities subjects is preferred
The desire to embrace faculty-wide professional development models
The ability to realise the potential of students of all learning needs
A proven ability to integrate flipped, blended and other pedagogies into teaching & learning
A commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school
A commitment to pastoral care within the school
