Athletics Day 2019
At the annual Athletics Day new records were set in both track and field events, at the Wan Chai Sports Ground on the 6 December 2019.
Athletes competed in 159 events including traditional sprints and races, as well as newer ones such as the whole House tug of war and the three legged race. The day ended with the much anticipated 4x100m teacher relay.
Clarissa Ki (11F) represented Fleming House in the 100m and 200m races, as well as the long jump. She said: “It was a great experience for everyone to come together and celebrate the spirit of Island School through sports.”
Mr Darren Siu Head of Activities & Inter-House Sport said: “I was very impressed to see all students highly motivated to participate in all of the events this year. Especially the senior students who performed to a high standard and were great role models for the younger students.”
The theme of this year’s Athletics Finals was ‘House Colors’. Students dressed up in a range of colorful costumes that represented their House. Inter-House Athletics results will be announced in the final assembly of the term.
