Central Applications Open in September

Parents are reminded that the Central Applications period opens from 1-30 September 2018 for next year’s Year 1 students (born in 2014).

For current Year 6 students, the applications process for secondary school places (into Year 7) opens from Monday 3 September- Friday 14 September 2018.

The Gateway Year 7 transfer form will be available to parents to access from the 3 September.

Parents will receive an email once they submit their Year 7 transfer form. Each family may only submit one form. Should the family try to submit more than one application the system will send a prompt message.

Allocation for secondary schools will be determined by residential zones at the start of Year 6. For further details, parents should refer to the information available on the ESF website at http://www.esf.edu.hk/year6-to-year7-key-dates/ for key dates and http://www.esf.edu.hk/esf-zones for school zones.

A new statement added to the website states that ESF reserves the right to redirect students based on majority of transferring cohorts in primary school should there be overcapacity at any of the secondary schools.

Year 7 offer letters will be send to parents from the respective secondary schools on 30 November 2018 and the Year 7 deposit payment deadline to secure a secondary school place is Friday 14 December 2018.
