Healthy Eating Week, Days Four and Five
Healthy Eating Week culminated in more competitions, challenges and cooking as it linked with different subjects.
There was the second Technology Day, where students collaboratively designed different aspects of the healthy restaurant, won by Einstein 1. Sara Adyanthaya 8D won the cereal bar competition overall. Year 7 students designed their own healthy breakfast jars.
Explorations students looked at the information in the ‘That Sugar Film’ more closely. Year 9 students continued to take part in the home cooking skills healthy snack competition, healthy soups were made using vegetables donated by Magic Seasons Organics (https://magicseasonorganics.com/).
The Year 7 poster competition closed and the winners are being announced soon.
Head of Hospitality and Food Technology Chris Lord said, “Overall it was a very busy week, which got lots of students and staff taking on personal challenges to make a change, to their diet and lifestyle.”
“The week was really well organised by the IB Food Science students who took on the planning and running of the week for their CAS project. Well done to all these students who made the week a huge success!”
