Students Win Awards in Australian Consulate’s Christmas Card Competition
With funky emu, glowing skies and a cross cultural Christmas, three students have won awards in the Australian Consulate’s Christmas Card Competition 2016.
Sarrah Ebrahim was named the overall winner of the junior category with her painting of a funky emu. Her prize is a $1500 book token! Her design will be used as the official Christmas greetings card for the Australian Consulate-General HK.
Rachel Handley got a merit award for her drawing of Santa Claus flying through a bright red sky above Hong Kong.
Grace Zheng got a selected entry award for her drawing mixing the landscape and themes of an Australian and Hong Kong Christmas.
Head of Visual Arts, Helen Palmer said: “Many congratulations to the winning entries. They responded to the criteria of the competition perfectly, and indeed ought to be very proud of their achievements”.
There will be a prize giving ceremony on the 13 December and The Australian Consulate will be exhibiting the work at the Fringe Club until 28 December 2016.
