IB Geography Trip to Northern Thailand June 2016
Report by Head of Geography Howard Davis
A group of adventurous Year 12 Geographers embarked on a Geography field trip to the Mae Kok River in Chiang Rai province, Northern Thailand in June 2016.
The students focused on investigating links between river pollution and human activity along the Huay Nam Ngan river (a tributary of the Mighty Mekong). Other highlights included a study of hill tribes in Northern Thailand and engaging in a variety of cultural and adventure activities.
The students certainly saw the benefits of studying first-hand the geography of another country and also had the opportunity to interact with Thai society and customs. We look forward to our trip next year.
