Anaia 2019
At Anaia, Island School’s annual charity fashion show, held on the 16th March at the Sha Tin Wai campus students raised thousands of dollars for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre.
Students and teachers modelled well known clothing brands such as Topshop, Aanya Shop and Bershka, as well as the crowd’s favourite – the wedding line, sponsored by S.we Wedding. The show also featured student designers: Esha Morakhiya, Priscilla Lee, Sharon Bruck and Avantika Malhotra. Between the fashion lines student singers, dancers and a band entertained the audience.
Anaia is student led, with committees ranging from advertising, public relations, finance, entertainment, creative direction, model management and a backstage crew.
The collaboration between Island School and Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre is in its fifth year. Committee members volunteered at their Christmas concert last year. Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre offers multi-professional services to anyone diagnosed with cancer, free of charge.
