Work With Us

Island School is going through an exciting time of innovation and change and we are looking for exciting and innovative teachers to join us on this journey.

During recent years we have been overhauling our curriculum following the decision to move to the IB Diploma 10 years ago. Our unique Island Futures curriculum offers an unprecedented range of opportunities for students and teachers. We want teachers with the drive and imagination to make the most of the freedom that this curriculum structure offers. For more details on our remarkable Elements courses, the transdisciplinary Island Time and mixed age teaching in Explorations, see our curriculum pages.

The next step in our change is a physical one. We have been co-designing a brand new school with our architect partners for two years now. This means that we plan to move out of the current site, into two smaller schools in 2017. These have also been co-designed and we are looking forward to the opportunities they offer. We are even more excited about moving back into our state-of-the art new facility in 2022.

New members of staff will have new and different challenges throughout this process. They will have the opportunities to contribute to exciting new courses and be involved in the detail of planning for the new site.

This video was put together by students and staff as an introduction to Island School life. There are more videos on the curriculum pages, where students talk about their experiences.
