Support Islanders next steps into university studies. The Trust was set up on the occasion of the school’s 40th birthday to help Island School students overcome financial obstacles to take the next step in their education. An Island School education provides access to universities and colleges all round the world, but occasionally adverse financial conditions or misfortune means that some students cannot afford to make the appropriate choice. The Trust accepts applications, which the trustees scrutinise in depth, from families to support part of the fees of the first year at university. We require a compelling case that there is funding for the rest of the fees and a plan is in hand to pay beyond the first year. About 15 Islanders, including Jess Leung, have benefited from the generosity of the Trust. These Islanders have been able to take courses at colleges they otherwise would not be able to afford. As the original funds raised at the 40th birthday erode, we want to accept more donations to benefit more members of our community.
