Island School Trust Scholarships

Support Islanders next steps into university studies. The Trust was set up on the occasion of the school’s 40th birthday to help Island School students overcome financial obstacles to take the next step in their education. An Island School education provides access to universities and colleges all round the world, but occasionally adverse financial conditions or misfortune means that some students cannot afford to make the appropriate choice. The Trust accepts applications, which the trustees scrutinise in depth, from families to support part of the fees of the first year at university. We require a compelling case that there is funding for the rest of the fees and a plan is in hand to pay beyond the first year. About 15 Islanders, including Jess Leung, have benefited from the generosity of the Trust. These Islanders have been able to take courses at colleges they otherwise would not be able to afford. As the original funds raised at the 40th birthday erode, we want to accept more donations to benefit more members of our community.

Donations can be made by cheque, bank transfer and PayPal.

Cheques are the preferred donation method as 100% of your donation will go to the Island School Trust. Please make cheques payable to ‘The Island School Trust’ and send to Island School Tai Wai, Finance Office, Sun Chui Estate, Sha Tin, New Territories. If you would like your donation to go to a specific campaign, please reference the campaign on the back of the cheque, Spirit Fund, John Ying Wah Gibson, Island School Trust Scholarship, Nicola Myers, Kenneth McBride campaign, Katja House campaign or Baiwan campaign. Please also include your name, address and email so we can send you a thank you card and a tax deductible receipt (available on request) for donations over $100.
