Student Awards and Achievements

Joseph Lau (8D) was named Champion at the Hong Kong Spelling Bee on the, 7 May 2018.

Netball

This season the C1 Grade Girls Netball team played in the HKSSF league and the HKNA development league and tournament. In the HKSSF league the C1 teamed finished 6th overall. In the HKNA tournament they won 2 games and lost 2. The C2 team had a challenging season in the HKNA development league with mixed results but finished on a high with a close win over Singapore International School, 5-4 in the final tournament

P.E Teacher Angela Worthington said: “Both teams, C1 and C2, won and lost games but it was the commitment and enthusiasm of the players that shone through all season. The girls’ knowledge of tactics and match play has improved. Captains, Hilary Li (C1 team) and Alysha Wells-Daswani (C2 team), did a wonderful job of leading the teams. Myself and Ms McPhee (netball coach) would like to say well done to everyone on a good season and thank you for representing Island School.”

Tennis

Cheung Cherry Tsoi Yi (7F) and her doubles partner, Chaeeun, took third place in the Hong Kong – Tennis Korea Cup, group A, on the 1 May 2018.

Music & Drama

Anton Newcomb (7W) is going to be part of the Hong Kong production of award-winning West End and Broadway musical Evita!

He was chosen to be one of the 18 children cast for the HK shows, who will be taking turns in three groups. The show runs from the 11 May – 10 June 2018.
