Dear Rutherford Parents,
Amnesty International HK is the chosen charity for Rutherford House and through supporting its work, we try to engage our students in exploring the issues of human rights. This year, we have already had a very successful fund raising week last term, and we will be launching our campaigning week on Monday.
Each year, our senior prefects lead the debate amongst Rutherford students to decide which Amnesty International campaign to support, and this year they have chosen to support a signature campaign seeking the pardoning of Edward Snowden by the American Government.
Over a few lunchtimes next week, the film Snowden will be shown and our students will be engaged in various activities to highlight this cause. The week will end with our annual Gala Night during which we will be showcasing the many talents that we have in the House! Our students have been working very hard to put the show together and it is a chance for everyone in the House, students, parents and teachers to get together to relax and enjoy an evening of entertainment!
