Island School’s Social Justice Group organized a “Poverty Week” 5 – 9 February 2018, during which awareness and money was raised for ‘Christian Service’ a Sha Tin based charity, and for the Baiwan community.
A variety of events were held, throughout the week, including a bake sale and a dress gold and red day. The proceeds will be used to help the children in Baiwan, China – providing them with education and services that meet their basic needs.
Two students from each form participated in a 6 kilometer “walk for water” relay, experiencing the distance some people travel to get water.
Island School also joined Christian Service’s laisee campaign with students putting money in red packets. The charity will use the money to provide treatment, guidance and education for those that need it.
