New Island School Principal Announcement

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Stephen Loggie will join Island School in May 2017 as Principal Designate of Island School. Stephen will become the Principal of Island School at the start of the next academic year.

Stephen is the Executive Principal of Palm Beach Currumbin State High in the Gold Coast, Australia, which he has led since 2009. He has 23 years of Principal experience across 9 different primary and secondary schools in rural, regional and urban locations in Queensland.

During his career, Stephen has been a Foundation Principal at two schools one of which being the Queensland Academy of Science Maths and Technology, Australia’s leading IB World School. He attributes his success in these roles to high quality consultation and collaboration between the parent, student and professional communities and prioritisation of open communication between stakeholders.

The Queensland Academy was built on an existing school site and as such Stephen has led a school community faced with many of the challenges that face Island School. These included decanting resources, utilising high quality temporary facilities and collaborating with colleagues to develop educational strategies that deliver on the school’s commitment to exceptional quality education during the transition phase.

Stephen obtained his Diploma of Education from the Queensland University of Technology in 1990, and his Bachelor of Educational Studies from the University of Queensland in 1992. We are confident that Stephen will provide excellent leadership at Island School and will contribute significantly to ESF.

We would like to especially thank all of those members of the Island School community who were involved in the selection process. We enjoyed meeting many of you throughout the process and deeply appreciate your commitment to Island School and ESF. We also thank other ESF stakeholders who participated in the process throughout.

Kind regards,
