Fleming House Charity Week

From a lunchtime carnival to a multitude of sponsored events, Fleming House raised money for charities Feeding Hong Kong and Husk Cambodia, from the 3-7 October 2016.

Throughout the week, students from each year led fund raising activities including a sponsored silence, pelting teachers with wet sponges, selling homemade treats and dressing red. The whole House came together for a sponsored walk and the 2016 giant ‘F’ on the Green Area.

Suneh Bhatia from 9F commented: “Although it was just a bake sale, I feel that what we are doing can actually contribute to our society, no matter how small the difference is.”

Christy Chau 10F describes the week as lively and fun. “This is my first year at Island School, and I have to say this week has pleasantly surprised me. Throughout the entire week, people were just so supportive, and this has really been a great experience for me.”

Feeding Hong Kong is a charity dedicated to ending hunger-related problems in Hong Kong while Husk Cambodia assists families to address some of their most basic needs, giving them the best opportunity to stay together and work for a better future.
