Biggest Ever ESF Higher Education Fair

The 2017 ESF Higher Education Fair was the biggest ever, with Island School hosting 168 university and colleges from all over the world. All the major spaces in the school were used to host academic institutions from North America, Australia, Europe and Asia.

One student said: “I really don’t know what I want to do after school but talking to the universities helps me to understand what the courses are like and what [IB] points are necessary. There are three possible directions I could go in, so I will explore all of them today.”

Roger Wilkinson, Head of Careers at Island School said: “This year, I noticed more parents attended the fair. The students and parents found it extremely useful and gave really positive feedback. This fair is important not only for students and parents as part of their university research but also for ESF HE counsellors to make direct connections. It is another hugely successful university fair and I am confident that it will continue to be so.”

Higher Education Counsellor Awing Lui said: “Lots of people help make this event a success,  thank you from the HE team to our wonderful Year 12 student ambassadors, Chris Lord and his Lord’s Kitchen team of Year 11 students for making the food, Caleb Fu (12W), Bond Lau (12W), Gabriel Chan (12W) and Athena Yu (10R) for a great band performance, Tony Chan, our site manager, and his team for the setup and last, but not least, the Island School staff and ESF for their great support.
